Talisman jv to focus offshore

Talisman Energy plans to invest $1.1bn to develop the Hai Su Den and Hai Su Trang oil fields offshore of southern Vietnam. The project is a 60/40 joint venture between Talisman Energy and PetroVietnam Exploration Production (PVEP). Hai Su Trang had an oil flow of 15,000 barrels a day in December 2006, while Hai Su Den had an oil flow of 21,000 barrels a day in January of this year. The fields are expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2011.
